The plight of the bumblebee has been a hot topic of late, and in showing support for these humble creatures, many bee-inspired designs have emerged this year. Chaumet the Parisian jewellery house has long been associated with the buzzing insect and has just launched new engagement rings as part of its Bee My Love collection, inspired by the geometry of the hive.
Marie-Etienne Nitot, who founded what we now know as Chaumet in 1780, was jeweller to Napoleon Bonaparte, whose emblem was a bee, a symbol of industry. And so the bee has become a Chaumet icon that emerges through many of its designs. Earlier this year, the fine jeweller released new Attrape-moi watches, which feature a spider and bee beneath their dials, while honeycomb-inspired settings have been seen on bracelets, necklaces, tiaras and, now, these pretty Bee My Love rings.
The new engagement rings each bear the hexagonal shape that distinguishes the Bee My Love collection, available in white, yellow and pink gold and topped with a solitaire diamond. Their unusual interlocking design makes them perfect for wearing alone or stacked up together. Mix and match with different Bee My Love gold bands, with or without diamonds, for a completely individual look.
