Trained as a silversmith in Germany and having spent several years constructing tableware, Petra Class' approach to jewellery-making is informed, first and foremost, by the European tradition of applied art. She creates jewellery that is wearable while using materials traditionally perceived as precious. Within these limitations, Petra tries to develop her own language, creating jewels that communicate her own sensibilities, as well as a sense of contemporary aesthetic.
