We can't think of a better way to mark blue sapphire month on The Jewellery Editor than by sharing this magical Adler high jewellery set with you.
A fairy tale about a bluebird is the inspiration behind this beautiful new L'Oiseau Bleu necklace and earrings set. The trail of intensely coloured pear-cut blue sapphires is reminiscent of the wings belonging to the fictional bird in the classic story by Belgian author Maurice Maeterlinck. Written as a six-act play in 1908, it tells the story of a brother and sister who go in search of the magical Blue Bird of Happiness. The metaphor of the story is that, if we open our hearts, happiness can be found right before us.
For a lucky few, perhaps, this happiness could be in the form of Adler's exquisite L'Oiseau Bleu necklace and earrings, which, just like the bluebird in the fairy tale, shine a radiant light that illuminates the wearer's path.
The high jewellery earrings in white gold are set with 34 pear-cut blue sapphires, totalling 18.92ct, and 12 pear-cut diamonds. On the necklace, 46 pear-shaped sapphires totalling more than 60ct in different tones of blue caress the neck along with a cascade of white diamonds.
Established in Istanbul in 1886 and now based in Geneva, Adler is renowned for its innovative high jewellery designs, which combine both Eastern and Western influences.
