Chopard has added another dimension to its playful Happy Diamonds concept with the launch of the Happy Diamonds Butterflies collection.
Delicate butterfly wings flutter across a selection of feminine jewels that evoke the freshness of youth and a joyful spirit. The Happy Diamonds Butterflies jewellery collection includes pendants, bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces, crafted in rose or white gold and partially or fully set with diamonds, pastel blue or pink sapphires. The iconic moving diamonds dance freely in the openwork wings, capturing the ethereal spirit of a butterfly in a whirlwind of sparkling gems.
At the heart of the collection is the Happy Diamonds Butterflies jewellery watch featuring two butterflies covered in sapphires and brown diamonds resting on the diamond-set case. The curves of the case and the dial mirror one other, while seven mobile diamonds twirl playfully between them. In the centre of the dial, the cutout profile of a diamond butterfly sits on a purple mother-of-pearl background.
Chopard's spinning Happy Diamonds, free from the constraints of metal claws, were an instant hit when they were first launched in 1976. Although they've been part of Chopard's signature collection for almost 40 years now, exactly how the diamonds move freely remains a closely guarded secret.
