EDITOR'S REVIEW
To celebrate Chinese New Year, Chopard has created the L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Monkey watch. An image of a monkey idly picking peaches - a popular scene in Chinese iconography that is believed to bring good luck - plays out on the dial. The miniature artwork was handcrafted in Japan by a master lacquer artist, who used a varnish made from the sap of the Urushi tree, which can be harvested just once a year, making it extremely rare. The watch has a gold case and is powered by the L.U.C calibre 96.17-L, a self-winding movement that is equipped with Chopard’s twin technology, which has two barrels to deliver a power reserve of 65 hours.
