EDITOR'S REVIEW
Introduced in 1945, the Datejust was the first automatic waterproof wristwatch with a date window at 3 o’clock on the dial, and it quickly became a classic Rolex watch for men and women alike. Practical and designed for everyday wear and tear, the Lady-Datejust features the hallmark magnifying lens over the date window – known as a Cyclops lens – and its resilient 28mm steel and yellow gold case is waterproof to depths of 100 metres. The fluted bezel of this model is a reference to the original 1926 Oyster watch, and the Jubilee bracelet composed of five-piece links and made from a combination of steel and 18-ct. yellow gold – known as Rolesor – features a concealed folding clasp for additional protection. This new 28mm model is equipped with an innovative automatic movement designed by Rolex with a Siloxi silicon hairspring and a 55-hour power reserve with an exacting precision rate of -2/+2 seconds a day, earning it the title of Superlative Chronometer.
