As with the most memorable designs, Faraone Mennella aim to create jewellery that is as much forward thinking as it is classical, and their couture collection is no exception to this, taking their Mediterranean meets East Coast way of thinking to another level.
Still keeping with the curvaceous and very Italian forms of their impressive Signature collection, here we see the introduction of vivid colours and striking diamond settings that elevate the jewellery almost to grand spectacle. Inspired by the garden of the Faraone Mennella estate, the 'Giardino de Gioie' looks delicious: a large multi-colour cabochon bracelet in 18ct yellow gold with Aquamarine, Green Tourmaline, Green Beryl, Kunzite, Rubellite and of course diamonds; there are pieces like this that literally appeal to the tastebuds as much as they do the eyes, the rich colour on display a feast for the senses.
The Aquamarine Bullet is where you begin to see the incorporation of diamonds in the Couture collection that is pretty much unseen in their Signature collection, a one of a kind 18ct yellow gold bracelet with pave diamonds prominently set; likewise the rings in this collection certainly don't hold back with luxuriant stones and emeralds of all colours jumping out from imposing settings. The Khalifa 18ct yellow gold snake ring with brown, champagne and emerald stones is one of the collection's highlights.
Still though, there are the sublime moments when Faraone Mennella have taken colour and shape and combined them to make couture that is elegantly understated, namely the white gold green tourmaline and diamond earrings. Faraone Mennella have infused Italian design and artistry with their New York base to make pieces that are bold, colourful, and unmistakably theirs.
