The moon, the stars and a diamond-studded peacock are all brought to life in the stunning three-dimensional Cristal de Lune timepiece from Boucheron.
Visitors to Baselworld last week caught a first glimpse of this sparkling masterpiece, featuring 957 diamonds. It will form part of Boucheron's showcase at the Biennale in Paris later this year, where the big jewellery houses are set to unveil their most jaw-dropping creations.
In white gold and decorated with baguette and round diamonds, a rock crystal dome and a detachable tassel, the one-of-a-kind Cristal de Lune couldn't be further removed from a conventional watch.
Contained in the dome, which is dotted with diamonds to represent the starry sky, the Paon de Lune (moon peacock) - a recurring figure in Boucheron's creations - wears a tiara of bezel-set diamonds.
The case of the Cristal de Lune watch is the moon, pavéd with baguette diamonds, while the reverse is also pavéd with diamonds using the random snow-setting technique. A white mother-of-pearl dial features hands in white gold set with one diamond at the centre.
The pavé diamond bracelet features a removable tassel, which can be worn as a pendant on the white gold chain that is presented with the watch.
