Award season kicked off in earnest at the 72nd annual Golden Globes yesterday with diamonds and platinum contending with splashes of color for the most glamorous red carpet jewelry of the evening.
Swingy diamond earrings were a popular choice with many stars. Jessica Chastain looked every inch the screen goddess in Piaget high jewelry diamond earrings and a pleated bronze Versace gown, while Jennifer Lopez was daring as always in plunging, sequined Zuhair Murad and dangling sparklers from Lorraine Schwartz. Sienna Miller paired her Tiffany & Co. diamond earrings with an edgy single gold hoop.
Amal Clooney, meanwhile, was sophistication personified in black Dior and cascading Harry Winston diamond earrings, making her Globes debut with husband and Cecil B. DeMille award honoree, George Clooney.
Julianne Moore, winner of Best Actress for her role in Still Alice, proved her red carpet credentials in Chopard jewelry: a pair of diamond cluster earrings and a dramatic sequined and feathered monochrome Givenchy gown.
Helen Mirren, nominated for Best Actress in The Hundred Foot Journey, joined many younger actresses in red gowns but proved the sexiest of them all in Dolce & Gabbana and her statement-making red carpet jewelry - ruby and diamond Chopard high jewelry earrings - together with a fountain pen pin in honor of Charlie Hebdo.
The night also featured several show-stopping necklaces, including an iconic Bulgari serpent wrapped elegantly about Naomi Watts' neck.
