One of the famed British names in horology and invention, Arnold & Son has roots dating back nearly 250 years. A talented craftsman and scholar, John Arnold left England for the Netherlands at the age of 19 to hone his watchmaking skills. He returned two years later, establishing himself as a watchmaker of repute in London's Strand by his mid-twenties. After Arnold presented the smallest repeating watch ever made to King George III, he rapidly acquired a wealthy clientele. John Arnold’s technical expertise was superb, and he dedicated himself to creating timepieces for the ships of His Majesty. In 1787, with the help of his son, he founded Arnold & Son.
