The name of this watch brand is an anagram of Neuchâtel - the famous Swiss watchmaking town where Guillaume Tetu, a product designer, co-founded the brand in 2004. Since then, Hautlence has made a name for itself with its bold, architectural cases and unconventional approach to displaying the time. Many of the calibres are developed and crafted in-house and can be viewed from many angles on the sapphire crystal windows on the watch case. The skeletonised dials built on many levels, and the incorporation of bright colours and audacious cases made from avant-garde materials caught the eye of Eric Cantona, who is currently the brand's most visible face. Aquired by MELB Holding, owned by Georges-Henri Meylan in 2012 - which also holds the luxury brand H. Moser & Cie. in its portfolio, Hautlence has benefitted from the injection of capital and is still managed by its co-founder Guillaume Tetu.
