Having grown up on the Connecticut shoreline, Katharine Walker has always been inspired by the sea. The colours, shapes, and sense of tranquility of the ocean have all influenced her design aesthetic, and Katharine's affinity for naturally occurring free-form shapes can be seen throughout her collection. After receiving a BA from Suffolk University in Boston, Katharine earned a degree in jewellery design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and thereafter started to work on pieces for Tiffany and David Yurman. This experience strengthened her skills and nurtured her vocation. As a jewellery artist, Katharine strives to create unique and wearable pieces of environmentally responsible handmade jewellery using high-carat yellow and rose gold, along with a variety of coloured gemstones.
