Ponte Vecchio Gioielli was founded by Ugo Calà in Florence in the 1970s. While working in his father’s barbers in Milan, Ugo met a famed goldsmith and so became an apprentice aged just 14. The jewellery brand is named after the Ponte Vecchio medieval stone bridge in Florence, which now houses all the high-end jewellers. The designer's jewellery is dictated by the gemstones, and carries an extremely feminine aura that trends through his collections. The designer’s style can be defined as both traditional and modern, with delicate minimalism and classic grace, contrasting with a little humour in some of his more playful collections.
