Angelina Jolie is using her celebrity status not just to make jewels look good on the red carpet but to help needy children. Together with her jewellery dealer, Robert Procop, former CEO of Asprey's, Jolie has launched a jewellery collection, the proceeds of which go to The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. And let's face it, few people have a better platform, or body for that matter, than queen Angelina on which to showcase products. At the opening of her latest film, "The Tourist" Jolie wore a pair of green beryl 'tablet' style earrings that she has created together with Beverly Hills jeweller Robert Procop. The proceeds of jewels from the Jolie/Procop collaboration will benefit Jolie's charity: The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. These green beryl earrings are a hint of what the rest of the collection will look like. Think big, coloured stones and classic designs fit for a Hollywood diva. And as for prices, well they are as exclusive as the jewels and available only on request. Even if you can afford one of these jewels with a double dose of philanthropic and celebrity sparkle, you will have to get into Procop's little black book as they won't be for sale in shops. In fact, this project is so fresh, that you will have to wait a few days to see the full collection at Robert Procop's yet to be launched website. Robert Procop and Jolie go back a long way. Procop has been draping Jolie in his glamorous gems for almost a decade and most recently, sourced the jewels for Jolie's latest film "The Tourist." I will be going to see the film this weekend and never mind the action and the clever twists and turns of the plot: I will be looking out for the jewels.
