She's set to be the most glamorous Disney witch to ever grace the silver screen, so it seems fitting that Angelina Jolie's character should have her own dark and decadent jewellery collection.
Fine jewellery brand Crow's Nest has teamed up with Walt Disney Pictures to create an exclusive collection for its upcoming blockbuster, starring Angelina Jolie as Maleficent.
Directed by double Oscar-winning director Robert Stromberg, Maleficent is the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic 'Sleeping Beauty'. Jolie is the wicked witch who places a curse on the princess Aurora, played by Elle Fanning, but the film also explores the events that turned her heart to stone in the first place.
Daniel Belevitch, founder and creative director of Crow's Nest, says the synergy between his jewellery designs and key elements from the film were evident from the outset.
Using motifs such as thorns, horns, dragons, feathers and fire, he has created a seven-piece limited-edition collection of statement rings, bracelets and an ear cuff. Each piece is set in rhodium with black diamonds, featuring a pear-shaped onyx stone in place of the brand's signature pear-shaped green tsavorite. The fire ring in yellow gold with red and yellow sapphires, in particular, stands out as a testament to the designer's craftsmanship and attention to detail.
"Working with Disney is like a dream come true. It was an honour for me to have been given this opportunity so early in the brand's history. The Maleficent collection has enabled me to create a collection that is dramatic and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. It's fierce," says Daniel of the collaboration.
Crow's Nest Maleficent will be on sale from May, with prices starting from £2,500.
