Inspired by the shimmering sun on a wide open horizon, the new De Beers Azulea bands capture a diamond solitaire in simple bands of textured gold. A stylish alternative to the traditional diamond engagement ring or for stacking up on one finger. With so many different ways to wear diamonds these Azulea bands by De Beers are a breath of fresh air. The diamond represents a rising or setting sun as it meets the horizon and sits in a simple band of textured gold. The small indentations in the band add richness to this otherwise very delicate and simple design and the rows of little hollows create an effect like heatwaves shimmering around the sun. The rings have an ancient air about them, thanks to hand made feel of the irregular hollow pattern and the meticulous handicraft of the De Beers jewellers. The pink gold version is reminds me of the warm sunsets on the African plains while the white gold version is as pristine as an Artic sunrise. The black gold is particularly dramatic with its coal black lustre that offsets the perfect, round diamond. A half-bezel holds the diamond in place allowing maximum light to penetrate the diamond, that like the rays of the sun, shine out from the horizon.
