Lupita Nyong'o has wowed the world with her daring choice of jewels throughout awards season in LA, and her fresh, young attitude to accessorising has proved an inspiration to us all.
In the March issue of Essence magazine, Lupita is photographed wearing two distinctive designs by Alexandra Mor.
The limited-edition platinum Snowflake stud earrings feature the New York-based designer's signature details of 1mm melée diamond bands and knife-edged wire, which are also incorporated into the one-off 36.19ct rectangular rutilated quartz ring with 'floating' diamond melée.
Teamed with a Vera Wang dress and high-octane makeup, the lavish portraits were styled by Nike Nelson and shot by photographer Philippe Salomon.
Lupita's preference for original jewels has really set her apart this awards season. Last month she attended the BAFTAs wearing a pair of gold cuffs by up-and-coming Brazilian jewellery designer Ana Khouri. And at a pre-Oscars cocktail party thrown by LoveGold last week, at which she was guest of honour, she also shunned the big-name jewellery houses in favour of stylish jewels by Greek designer Elena Votsi.
With her Best Supporting Actress win for her role in '12 Years a Slave' at the 2014 Oscars, Lupita has firmly established herself as the girl of the moment. We look forward to seeing more creative jewellery choices from this budding style maven over the coming months.
