New York Fashion Week kicked off with the high-voltage sparkle of Harry Winston jewellery. For the first time in the history of this diamond house, Harry Winston stepped up as the Presenting Sponsor of the amfAR New York Gala, held at Cipriani's.
In an unprecedented move, Harry Winston has committed to be the lead supporter for amfAR's 27 gala events over the next three years, a major source of fundraising for the HIV/AIDS charity's Countdown to a Cure research work. The amfAR New York Gala is an important feature in its schedule of events, which so far have raised more than $15 million to support the charity's life-saving research.
AmfAR's high-profile, philanthropic events attract some of the most glamorous and generous celebrities. Musician Harry Belafonte, actress Rosario Dawson and photographer Patrick Demarchelier were honoured with the gift of a Harry Winston Midnight watch for their outstanding work in raising awareness for HIV/AIDS.
Decked out in Harry Winston diamond earrings, entertainment was provided by Dame Shirley Bassey, who appropriately sang "Diamonds are Forever". Heidi Klum, a long-standing supporter and presenter at amfAR events, modelled a pair of Sunflower Cascading Harry Winston diamond earrings before they were auctioned, the proceeds going to benefit amfAR's work.
Harry Winston jewellery shone out as celebrities supporting the cause chose to wear Winston diamonds to the event. Coco Rocha, though clearly pregnant, looked every bit the diva in her red Zac Posen maternity gown paired with a 62 carat Harry Winston Cluster diamond necklace, matching earrings, and a 6 carat marquise-cut diamond Winston Cluster ring.
Rosario Dawson chose the Mrs. Winston 25 carat diamond bracelet, 29 carat diamond earrings and, to top it off, an impressive 18 carat yellow diamond ring.
Kelly Rutherford stepped out in Harry Winston's new Secret jewels, the highlight being the Secret Combination necklace with cascades of diamond strands that can be worn in multiple ways.
In a striking red dress by Romona Keveza, 19-year-old model Kendall Jenner kept the look simple with Harry Winston 6 carat diamond ear studs, a 75 carat Harry Winston diamond bracelet, and 12 carat diamond ring.
Hailey Baldwin combined her striking, thigh-cut, strapless Gabriela Cadena dress with more than 20 carats of Harry Winston earrings, rings and bracelets.
