Artist Marc Quinn known for his voluptous hyper-real, super-bright flower and that famous golden statue of Kate Moss doing yoga has looked to smaller objects with a collection of jewels for Selfridges. More wearable than a scuplture of his head made of his own frozen blood, another of his provocative oeuvres, these jewels are all made in white gold exclusively for this landmark London department store.
Quinn has made jewellery before but this is the first time that he has made pieces in white gold. Prices start from £7,000 for the jewels and the collection also includes white bronze sculptures as well as t-shirts and silk scarves. Watch out for more artists turning their hand to jewels as I find out more about how the art and jewellery world have a lot in common: often it's just a question of size.
