To coincide with the start of Milan Fashion Week, Kuwaiti jeweller Octium hosted a dazzling retrospective of its work in the fashion capital of Italy. Alongside fellow fashion and jewellery insiders, Maria Doulton attended the exclusive event and had the chance to speak with Alanood Al Sabah and her husband Fahad Al Hajiri, who founded Octium in 2009.
"A Golden Era, a Tribute to Heritage" showcased Octium's finest work in the breathtaking setting of the grand Palazzo Visconti - the first time Octium's creations have being displayed in Europe. Sixteen golden cases contained jewels from each of Octium's collections, including ornate earrings and necklaces from the Alandalus collection alongside the newly launched Octium Creates Augustine clutches. Also on show were Octium's bespoke emerald earrings and bracelet, created in partnership with Gemfields.
Come behind the scenes with Maria in our exclusive video to discover the jeweller who is single-handedly changing the way Middle Eastern jewellery is perceived.
