The outfits may have been more sedate than previous years, but the biggest night of the year for music still served up some memorable red carpet jewelry moments.
Held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the Grammys are traditionally a less formal affair than the Oscars and Golden Globes, allowing the stars of rock and pop to really show off their creative flair.
American country singer Carrie Underwood wore a ruby and diamond necklace, which she and her husband Mike Fisher designed together with jeweler Johnathon Arndt. Named the Heartbeat after Underwood’s current hit song, the jewel’s centerpiece is a 12ct vivid yellow flawless diamond known as The Firefly Diamond. The necklace also features more than 20cts of Burmese rubies as well as 16cts of white brilliant diamonds.
The ethereally elegant Florence Welch looked every inch the English rose clad in Gucci from top to toe. She matched her pink Pre-Fall 2016 moon and star-embellished dress with five Gucci rings from the luxury house’s jewelry line, including two Flora rings and a bee motif Le Marché des Merveilles ring.
British pop sensation Ellie Goulding vamped up her light pink Stella McCartney gown with a cascade of diamonds courtesy of the aptly named Diva’s Dream diamond necklace by Bulgari. Her red carpet jewelry choices also included two Bulgari rings and a pair of Bulgari diamond earrings. Fellow British singer Adele opted for colored diamonds, accessorizing her sparkly black Givenchy dress with a pair of 11.5ct radiant-cut yellow diamond earrings by Harry Winston.
American actress and singer Zendaya channeled the late David Bowie in a white shirt and black Dsquared2 suit, complete with a new mullet hairdo and a handful of diamond rings by Butani and Casa Reale.
White diamonds were a popular red carpet jewelry choice, with Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick looking stunning in a slinky Emanuel Ungaro dress and her hair pulled back to show off a pair of Harry Kotlar diamond earrings.
Finally, fashion model Bella Hadid, who was at the Grammys to support her nominated beau The Weeknd, rocked a sultry Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture dress teamed with an iconic Bulgari Serpenti cuff.
