Shaun Leane, our very own British jewellery hero, brings us the clean lines of the Maybell Collection in white gold and diamonds. Delicate diamond flowers weigh down slender boughs giving the garland necklace a new look. Shaun Leane who has been named UK Jewellery Designer of the Year four times combines fine jewellery making with a unique sensibility for design. So it is no surprise that this young jeweller who has done his hours at the work bench in Hatton Garden was chosen to collaborate with the late Alexander McQueen, artist Sam Taylor-Wood as well as creating high jewellery pieces for Parisian house Boucheron and Givenchy. One of his latest collaboration is the white gold mesh and diamond gauntlet glove he made for patron Daphne Guinness and an example of how trailblazing Shaun fuses technical mastery with new dimensions of design that for all their brave new ways remain delicate and feminine. The Maybell is typical of Shaun's work. Notice the delicate, slender boughs of white gold and how the dainty woodland diamond flowers tremble, just as they would in Nature. Stylised forms and elegant lines are his signature look but watch out for the thorns as love and Nature can be cruel.
