Founded in 2004, KMCdesign desired to move away from traditional jade settings. Their designs are based on geometry and the nuances of colour and texture.
All the jade is high-quality Burmese with no enhancements, and covers the spectrum of green, purple, yellow, black or icy (transparent white) colours, which they use with diamonds, pearl and wood.
Located in the heritage area of Central in the newly restored PMQ (formerly the Police Married Quarters), a new retail hub of young designer brands, KMCdesign is building a reputation for its original approach to jade jewellery.
Carol Kwong Mei-ching had a background in visual arts before turning her hand to jewellery design with a mission to infuse jade with a contemporary aesthetic. She works with jade’s intrinsic qualities of colour and texture to create innovative, abstract designs.

All KMCdesign jewellery is crafted in-house, and some vintage pieces are available that fuse old jade with contemporary design and vintage materials. Jewellery repairs can be carried out on the brand’s own products, and most jade products come with a valuation certificate.
