Plukka is a little treasure chest of established and emerging names in jewellery in Central’s Chater House.
Hong Kong sparkles brightly with all the major jewellery brands, but the place to discover little-known fine jewellery designers with something unique and innovative to say is at Plukka. Plukka began life in 2011 as a global multi-brand online platform selling collections by a handful of original designers from around the world, such as AS29, Jack Vartanian and Ornella Iannuzzi as well as a few of Hong Kong and China’s own talents, including Yuan Lai and MSY by Wendy Yue.
The successful website has now added bricks and mortar with a shop in Central’s Chater House, where you can touch and feel the fabulous jewellery before making any decisions. The boutique, with its curved concrete façade and interior, features dramatic murals by Chinese contemporary ink artist Hong Chun Zhan, called “Smoldering”. The understated monochrome palette serves as a perfect backdrop for vitrines filled with innovative contemporary gem-set jewellery by Sutra, Yeprem, Suzanne Kalan, newcomer AYA by Chelsy Davy, Hoorsenbuhs and special collections designed for Plukka by Shirley Zhang and Sidney Chung.
This very intimate boutique is a place for discovery; a jewel box filled with everything from avant-garde to future-heirloom jewellery. It is easy to research Plukka online and then visit, to touch, try on and take the plunge.
