Experience the creative virtuosity of this Swiss Haute Horlogerie brand in London's Mayfair, complete with an in-house watchmaking expert.
Parmigiani Fleurier is a niche brand located in Fleurier Switzerland, with a cult following of watch lovers. It is one of those secrets just waiting to be discovered by the public at large. Founded by Michel Parmigiani in 1996 - a renowned watchmaker who has restored some of the most important antique clocks in history - the mission was to create a brand that would reflect Parmigiani’s profound admiration for the past, coupled with a dose of creativity and elegance rarely seen in watchmaking. Since 1996, Parmigiani has developed its own in-house calibres, and produces each and every one of its exquisite watches from head to toe - with the exception of the leather straps, which are sourced from Hermès.
The London Atelier Parmigiani, located in the swanky neighbourhood of Mayfair, was opened in 2012 and, true to the philosophy of its founder, stages mechanical know-how at the heart of the boutique, with a workshop and watchmaker on hand. Maxime Jequier, a professional Parmigiani watchmaker trained in Fleurier, is seated behind his oval bench, surrounded with the tools of his trade. Clients are invited to share their questions or discuss the intricacies of watchmaking complications around the workbench. The idea is for clients to get a feel for the craftsmanship involved in the miniature universe of watchmaking, and meeting the watchmaker is very much part of the experience.
Tony Sofocli, manager of the Atelier and a man who knows the watch business inside out, will be delighted to show clients models from the current collections.
Located on Mount Street, in an emblematic Georgian building with a striking façade, the Atelier Parmigiani is an oasis of serenity achieved with soft shades of beige, gold and brown, providing a luxurious, calm atmosphere to admire the watches. Sit back on one of the velvet sofas and admire the elegant Tonda and Kalpa collections or the Bugatti Super Sport watch with its aerodynamic body inspired by the Italian racing cars. In addition to permanent collections there are always Grandes Complications on hand and, if you’re lucky, one of the exceptional Parmigiani table clocks, such as the one made in collaboration with Lalique.
Parmigiani offers visitors a unique journey into the heart and soul of its watches, thanks to its in-house watchmaker who will answer all your queries and unveil some of the mysteries and complications of the fascinating miniature realm of watchmaking.
With an Haute Horlogerie watchmaker from Parmigiani’s manufacture in Fleurier working on the premises, clients get an exclusive view into the world of horology. Maxime Jequier will be delighted to field your questions and guide you on your adventure in horology. In addition to the bespoke service Parmigiani offers for its Haute Horlogerie models, the London boutique carries a large stock of models from current collections and a good selection of Hermès straps. However, if a client has a special request for a rare timepiece, the boutique will usually be able to obtain it in a matter of days.
