Led by design and inspired by contemporary art and the sleek lines of the yachting world, Vhernier’s jewels are boldly different. Take the Sorpresa bracelet. What appears to be a band of highly polished gold reveals its hidden articulations to drape around the wrist with diamonds sparkling in-between each slab-like link. Smooth white volcanic kogolong, glossy black jet, titanium and ebony are some of the more unusual materials Vhernier uses to express its singular take on jewellery.
Iconic house designs include the voluminous Pirouette rings that seamlessly meld rose gold with jet or diamonds as if one was poured on top of the other and left to set. Or the Tourbillon rings that wrap thick bands of smooth gold around the finger, with diamonds hidden in the twists and turns. Vhernier’s animal brooches bring a flash of colour thanks to the “trasparenze” technique of layering carved rock crystal over slices of colour gemstones and mother-of-pearl to create both volume and an intriguing depth of colour.
