The El Corte Inglés department store is still a family-run business that provides literally everything under the sun, including an entire department set aside exclusively for watches.
Founded in 1940, El Corte Inglés forms part of Spain’s largest retail group and is very much ingrained in the Madrid way of life. As the Spanish like to remind you, if you can’t find what you are looking for in El Corte Inglés, it probably doesn’t exist.
With its imposing architecture, the recently remodelled Castellana outlet is a landmark in Madrid and offers 170,000 square metres of shopping paradise, including a watches department. The most select and renowned international watchmakers - more than 50 brands - are all represented here, with some having their own shop-in-shops. The personnel are exceptionally well trained and speak a multitude of languages. It’s also nice to know that after an intense shopping session, El Corte Inglés has a gourmet area where you can relax and enjoy some tapas.
The convenience of having just about every leading international watch brand under one roof is unbeatable, and the sales assistants are impeccably trained.
