Villa is the only jeweller in Milan - or perhaps anywhere - that traces its origins back to an alchemist, thanks to Benvenuto Villa who, in 1876, opened a shop to finance his quest for black gold.
Alchemy didn’t work out for Benvenuto Villa, but his business is still run by the fifth generation of Villas, who are appassionati of unique coloured stones, which they source worldwide. Stone-buyer and designer Filippo Villa and Villa’s own artisans build unique pieces around their stones. The collaboration extends from the initial drawing, to the wax model and final finish, all done in Villa’s on-site workshop.
The Damasco collection, which combines steel worked in a special process and coloured stones, keeps Milan’s metallurgy tradition alive. However, Villa’s vast and whimsical collection of cufflinks make it a must. Villa artisans use precious and semi-precious stones, and white, rose and yellow gold, to create doll’s house-sized love letters, fountain pens and all manner of sports and automotive paraphernalia guaranteed to brighten either office or party wear.
For coloured stones, custom designs and the feel that you have joined a family, visit Villa, where the quirky cufflinks alone, including magicians’ top-hats - with rabbits - make it a must-visit.
Everything Villa sells is made by its own artisans in the brand’s workshop around the corner from the boutique.
Villa has a collection of wedding or engagement rings as well as offering a bespoke wedding jewellery service.
