One of the most prominent Brazilian jewellers, Amsterdam Sauer is the premier natural coloured gemstone specialist in South America.
The Amsterdam Sauer family has been proudly serving its international clientele since 1941. The brand’s expertise during all stages of the jewellery creation process - from rough gemstone to finished jewel - is Amsterdam Sauer’s guarantee of an exquisite and valuable object of desire.
In 1939, an 18-year-old Frenchman named Jules Roger Sauer decided to start afresh in Brazil. He arrived and immediately fell in love with the colourful and enigmatic world of gemstones. This was the beginning of a long and rewarding journey. In 1941, Lapidação Amsterdam Limitada was founded, which changed the landscape of the Brazilian haute jewellery scene. In 1966, Amsterdam Sauer was the first South American jeweller to win the Diamonds International Award - the most prestigious recognition in international jewellery - for its Constellation ring, created by designer Marcel Küng. The firm was awarded twice more, in 1992 for the Luna bracelet created by Iany Inoue, and in 2000, for the Fireworks necklace by designer Bialice Duarte.
Amsterdam Sauer has built a premier reputation around its unique designs set with only the finest Brazilian gemstones. The Amsterdam Sauer rare gemstone collection can be admired at the proprietary Amsterdam Sauer Museum located at the firm’s headquarters in Ipanema.
Amsterdam Sauer offers a selection of watches from brands such as Breguet, Ulysse Nardin and Hermès.
The boutique sells Amsterdam Sauer jewellery exclusively, which is crafted in-house in the brand’s ateliers. Although its jewellery is available to purchase online, this service is limited to international trunk shows and private sales.
Amsterdam Sauer offers custom-made bridal jewellery.
