Tigre sardonyx shell cameo ring

This fierce ring from New York-based jewellery brand Amedeo has been created using the ancient art form of cameo making. The centre of this 30mm men’s ring is a sardonyx shell that has been carved by hand into the image of a tiger. The shell is two-toned, so the artisans at Amedeo carefully scrape away the upper white layer until only a three-dimension image of their choosing is left, standing out on the darker section of the shell. This tiger cameo has been set in a silver ring that has been blackened using rhodium plating. A ring of black diamonds has been looped around the cameo for an extra flourish.
