EDITOR'S REVIEW
The Royal Oak collection is the pillar upon which the present-day fame of Audemars Piguet is built. A radical design proposal when it was first presented in 1972, the octagonal bezel and industrial edge of its case - complete with the visible screws on the bezel - revolutionised the market. The brand has revisited its icon in a 37mm pink gold case, its polished and satin-brushed surfaces contrasting beautifully with the nickel-grey dial. The hallmark ‘grande tapisserie’ or chequer board pattern of the Royal Oak family blankets the surface of the dial while the hour markers and hands are made from pink gold with a luminescent coating. Equipped with a manufacture automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve to keep the hours, minutes, central seconds and date in perfect synch, the watch comes on a luxurious pink gold bracelet with folding clasp.
