EDITOR'S REVIEW
This latest-generation dive timepiece from Breitling watches comes in a sturdy 44mm satin-brushed stainless steel case and is designed to plunge to depths of 1,000 metres. Breitling has forged a reputation for professional aviation or pilot's watches, and performs as well at high altitudes as it does under the sea. In keeping with this year's trend for blue dials, the gun blue dial of this watch is matched by the unidirectional ratcheted bezel to display dive times. The hands and numerals are large and easy to read and have been treated with a luminescent coating. The date window at 3 o'clock is a practical function that land lubbers will appreciate. The caseback is screwed down to protect the mechanical automatic movement made by Breitling, as is the crown with two gaskets. The watch can be customised with a choice of straps and dial colours. This model is presented on a cool Ocean Racer II Blue Marine strap with porthole decorations. A proper men's dive watch with a price that won't sink your economy.
