Launched in 2000 as a limited collection of black and white ceramic mechanical watches, it quickly became clear that Chanel's J12 was going to be a big hit. Combining the worlds of high fashion and haute horlogerie in stylish timepieces with serious watchmaking credentials, the latest incarnation is the Chanel J12 Chromatic 41mm in gunmetal grey. To create the unique colour and shine, Chanel added titanium to ceramic and polished it with diamond powder, resulting in a highly scratch-resistant material that looks like steel. Featuring a self-winding mechanical movement with a 42-hour power reserve, with the new J12 Chromatic 41mm Chanel is pioneering a new generation of hard-wearing materials in watchmaking.
