EDITOR'S REVIEW
With an obsession for racing cars, the co-president of Chopard, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, skilfully combines his two passions: historic racing events and the world of high-precision horology. As official sponsor of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique (GPMH), in which vintage Formula 1 racing cars tear around the legendary Monte Carlo track, Chopard has released a limited-edition watch for each year of the race. 2014 sees the launch of not one but a whole collection of GPMH timepieces. This Chopard GPMH Power Control chronograph has a titanium and stainless steel 44.5mm case. Racy yellow details on the tachymetre and hands of the chronograph counters transport you directly to the race track. The snailed grey dial features a black power reserve indicator at 6 o'clock that looks like the petrol gauge of a racing car. With COSC chronometer certification, the watch is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement providing a 46-hour power reserve. The stainless steel link bracelet captures the streamline aesthetic associated with F1 racing.
