Chopard has long cultivated a passion for classic car races and, since 1988, the brand has been the official timekeeper of the legendary Italian endurance race known as the Mille Miglia. For 2016, Chopard has presented the all-black Mille Miglia GTS Automatic Speed model with oversized numerals recalling the dashboards of 1950s cars, red details, and a distinctive strap featuring a vintage 1960s Dunlop racing tyre tread pattern. Masculine and robust, the 43mm case is made of steel with a black DLC coating to create an extremely resistant surface. The matte black dial features red accents in the shape of a seconds hand, the gasket surrounding the minute track, and the classic arrow-shaped Mille Miglia framing the date aperture. Powered by an in-house automatic COSC-certified engine, the tinted sapphire crystal caseback allows a view of the movement with its engine-style finishes and openworked oscillating weight. The Mille Miglia GTS Automatic Speed Black is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
