One of Cindy Chao’s trademarks is her annual creation of a Black Label Masterpiece butterfly brooch that are eagerly anticipated by collectors of her work. So respected are Cindy Chao's jewels that the Smithsonian Museum in Washington displays her 2009 Royal Butterfly shimmering with over 2,328 precious stones. Each of Cindy Chao's one-off creations involve thousands of hours of painstaking work. This most recent butterfly is entirely covered with a delicate pattern white diamonds and rubies set in titanium for a jewel that is as light as a air.
