EDITOR'S REVIEW
While the champagne tones of this large diamond from De Beers' 1888 Master Diamonds collection might suggest that it is yellow, this is in fact a white diamond but in a low colour grade. The 11.77 carat radiant-cut diamond is a W-colour stone, which gives it this unusual shade. The clarity of the stone is VS2 and the quality of the cut is the usual exacting De Beers standard, ensuring that the diamond will sparkle and perform just as would a white diamond or fancy yellow diamond of this quality. The good news is that this stone is about half the price of a white diamond of the same size and colour, and about a third less expensive than a comparable yellow diamond. The stone has been anchored to the 18 carat yellow gold ring with four subtle claws and the band of the ring is studded with white diamonds.
*The price of this ring is £231,000
