EDITOR'S REVIEW
The number eight held great significance for Monsieur Christian Dior, and the Dior VIII Grand Bal collection of watches is dedicated to this lucky number while at the same time paying homage to Dior's groundbreaking couture designs. This elegant Dior VIII Grand Bal Plissé Soleil timepiece features a galvanic treated dial in 'the sweetest of all colours', according to Christian Dior himself: pink. The dial features a white gold oscillating weight decorated with mother-of-pearl marquetry with a sun-yellow hem evoking the swirling pleats of a ball gown. A delicate ring of micro pavé diamonds frames the satin-steel hour and minute hands. The beautifully feminine dial is illuminated by the delicately scalloped bezel, set with a circle of brilliant-cut round diamonds. Attached to the 38mm polished stainless steel case is a tonal strap featuring pyramid shaped links that echo the infamous Dior pyramid 'cannage' pattern, secured with a steel clasp. Water resistant to 50m, the Swiss made Dior Inversé 11½ Calibre automatic movement, with a 42-hour power reserve, is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
