EDITOR'S REVIEW
The horsebit has become an emblem of the House of Gucci. Embossed on a handbag, worked into the snaffle of a classic loafer or woven into a silk scarf, the iconic design motif is recognised the world over as a signature of Gucci. Over the decades, the horsebit been incorporated into everything from sunglasses to sweaters, and when Creative Director at Gucci, Frida Giannini, first arrived at the Italian fashion house, she was quick to recognise its enduring appeal. One of the first pieces she created for the brand was a Horsebit bracelet, after which quickly followed an entire jewellery collection. This year, Giannini has expanded the collection once again with new Gucci Horsebit cocktail rings in 18ct yellow gold, which take the longstanding horsebit motif and reinterpret it as ring prongs. Also available set with a smoky quartz, this Gucci Horsebit cocktail ring, set with a vivid 7ct amethyst, gets our vote.
