Balloon silver and 24ct gold bracelet

Playing with texture and different precious metals is Turkish jeweller Gurhan's speciality. Incorporating his signature hand-hammered technique, this Gurhan bracelet from the Balloon collection combines blackened silver and silver with Gurhan's favourite 24ct gold, creating a richly coloured jewel that looks different from every angle. Founder Gurhan Orhan first became bewitched with pure 24ct gold when he handled a sheet of it in the 1990s. Defying the doubts of local artisans who insisted it was too soft and heavy for jewellery making, it quickly became his trademark. In this bracelet, "balloons" of burnished silver and silver are accompanied by a single 24ct gold sphere, creating a fascinating contrast.
