EDITOR'S REVIEW
The Hermès Arceau Millefiori watch collection marries Swiss watchmaking excellence with exquisite glassmaking. The raspberry pink dial of the Hermès Millefiori timepiece is made from crystal inspired by the 19th Century paperweights for which Les Cristalleries de Saint-Louis is renowned. Founded in 1586, the historic glassmaker has handcrafted each of the 'thousand flower' dials. Individual canes are blown, stretched and twirled to create rods. The rods are then sliced and arranged to form a raspberry pink carpet of flowers for the dial, which in turn is whittled down to a wafer-thin sliver. Protected by a 34mm polished white gold Arceau case, with its hallmark stirrup-shaped lugs, the dial is set alight with 60 white diamonds around the bezel. The timepiece is powered by an in-house self-winding movement that is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
