EDITOR'S REVIEW
The eternally elegant Slim d’Hermès watch was re-launched at Baselworld 2016, this time featuring a resplendent Grand Feu white enamel dial. This Hermès watch could be aptly described by the phrase “less is more”. The 39.5mm rose gold case manages to house the ultra-thin 2.6mm mechanical movement within a contemporary classic design that, like all things seemingly simple, is incredibly difficult to create. The white enamel dial was created using the Grand Feu enamelling technique, in which white enamel powder is applied with a fine brush and then fired in a kiln to 830 degrees. The process is repeated several times in order to achieve a smooth uniform shine, endowing the elegantly understated Hermès watch with a rich lustre and depth that can only be achieved with the alchemy of enamel.
