This 18ct gold ring by Holly Dyment features an enamel-crowned skull with two diamond eyes framed by yellow and purple sapphires. Entitled Thursday, it is part of a jewellery collection inspired by Ayurvedic culture where each day of the week is associated with a particular colour, stone, planet and number. A former interior decorator based in Toronto, Holly is known for her innovative use of colour and hand-painted enamel. At least twice a year she travels to Jaipur in India to oversee the creation of her jewellery collections, and each diamond and gemstone is carefully selected by Holly before being set in polished 18ct gold. Named New Designer of the Year by National Jeweler in 2013, her pieces combine a fun and contemporary feel with a sophisticated feminine aesthetic or, as Holly herself puts it: “I am a woman designer, designing for women.”
