EDITOR'S REVIEW
As the official timekeeper of the FIFA World Cup 2014, Hublot has launched a limited-edition timepiece that pays homage to the game and to the host country, Brazil. The instantly recognisable Hublot ceramic silhouette has a satin and polished finish, with an anodised black aluminium bezel decorated with chequered engraving. The black watch face features a specially developed Soccer Timer function picked out in the green and yellow colours of the Brazilian flag. The Soccer Timer function, first developed in the 1970s, times each 45-minute half of a football match. The double dial works in much the same way as a chronograph, with a pusher at 2 o'clock starting and stopping the timer. A separate sub-dial at 6 o'clock displays the hour and minute functions. Powered by a new in-house Swiss made calibre HUB1260, which has a patent pending for its groundbreaking bi-retrograde calibre, Hublot World Cup watch has been dubbed the 'Soccer Bang' watch, with only 200 made.
