EDITOR'S REVIEW
This vibrant brooch depicting two bugs nestling at the base of a bejewelled lily. Created by renowned Russian jeweller Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, who is a master of ancient jewellery-making techniques, each intricate element has been carefully thought out and crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The wings of the bugs are panes of transparent plique-à-jour enamel, while hot enamel work has been applied to 18 carat yellow gold to create the glossy, iridescent bodies of the flying insects. The bloom of the lily is ablaze with 8.38 carats of sapphires in red and orange hues, with a large 17.4 carat azure-hued opal at its base.
