The new IWC Aquatimer Automatic 2000 watch was inspired by the iconic Ocean 2000 dive watch. Not only does the 46mm titanium case feature the same wide-notched bezel as the Ocean 2000, but this dive watch is also water resistant up to depths of 2,000m - 6 times the normal Aquatimer capability. While this dive watch was inspired by a watch from the 1980s, the Aquatimer 2000 has all IWC's latest innovations. The pioneering internal/external unidirectional bezel is operated by a clever ratchet system allowing the chunky external bezel to be manipulated while wearing dive gloves. The SafeDive system ensures that the internal bezel can only be activated when the external bezel is rotated anti-clockwise, while the left-hand crown locks the external bezel for maximum safety when diving. The black dial is instantly recognisable as an Aquatimer, with green luminescent central hour, minute and seconds hands as well as large hour batons. The first 15 minutes on the bezel are luminescent for essential visibility at depth. The in-house built automatic movement Calibre IWC80110 has a 44-hour power reserve and a date indicator at 3 o'clock. The quick-release system allows the wearer to switch between a sporty rubber strap to a more elegant black leather strap.
