EDITOR'S REVIEW
A direct descendant of the IWC Lépine open-face pocket watch, the Portofino family of watches was born in 1984. Conceived as the "pocket style wrist watch", the Portofino was a reflection of the desire for elegant, classic and refined timepieces. Named after the Italian Riviera fishing village, Portofino, the collection reflects the sophisticated and beautiful lifestyle of the Mediterranean coastal town. This new IWC Portofino Midsize watch is the latest in a collection that is sought after by both men and women. With a 37mm red gold case, the bezel is set with 66 round brilliant-cut diamonds. The dial is white mother-of-pearl that gives the watch a sumptuous texture and depth. With applied red gold batons and a Roman numeral at 6 o'clock, each index is punctuated with a round diamond. The beautiful Moon phase window is positioned at 12 o'clock where golden stars and the Moon cover the midnight blue sky. The IWC Portofino is powered by the mechanical, self-winding movement, calibre 35800, that has a power reserve of up to 42 hours. This red gold Portofino is presented on an elegant red gold Milanaise mesh bracelet.
