EDITOR'S REVIEW
From the IWC Portugieser Grand Complication collection comes this Moon-phase, minute repeater, chronograph model. The familiar IWC Portugieser watch silhouette has a 45mm platinum case housing an elegant silver-plated dial. The perpetual calendar is indicated by the day, month and date sub-dials at 9, 6 and 3 o'clock respectively, with a four-digit date window at 8 o'clock. At 12 o'clock, the perpetual Moon-phase indicator, with its silver moon and star disk, can be found. These sub-dials share their functions with those of the chronograph, operated by push buttons on the case. The watch is also equipped with a minute repeater that, when activated by the repeating slide, strikes a lower chime for the hours, a double strike for the quarters and a high-pitched gong for the minutes, as required. Powered by a mechanical, self-winding movement, which has a 44-hour power reserve, the closed caseback is engraved with a compass rose. This IWC Grande Complication watch is presented on a black, Santoni alligator leather strap with contrast platinum thread stitching.
