EDITOR'S REVIEW
Re-edited in 2014, the Geophysic 1958 from Jaeger-LeCouture watches has a great vintage air and is presented in a 38.5mm stainless steel case with the hallmark white, highly legible, pristine dial. The sword-shaped hands and the yellow dots above the hour markers are covered in luminiscent coating for enhanced legibility. The in-house automatic calibre 898/1 features a stop second for precision time-setting and is impervious to shocks and magnetism thanks to the soft-iron inner case. Water-resistant to 100 metres, the original Geophysic watch was devised in 1958 for scientists participating in the first International Geophysical Year (1957-1958) - a chronometer packed with the latest scientific advances of that time, capable of resisting all hazards. Water-resistant, shockproof and able to withstand strong magnetic fields, the Geophysic model was chosen by crews sailing to the North Pole where the magnetic field is at its strongest. An ideal watch for men who enjoy retro styling, an illustrious past and rugged performance. Limited edition of 800 pieces.
