EDITOR'S REVIEW
This unusual yellow gold ring by Jessica Poole looks as though the gold has been crumpled in the palm of one’s hand. To add to this feeling that we are looking at a soft and malleable luxurious fabric, rather than solid 18 carat gold, the upper side of the ring has been decorated with a brushed effect whilst the underneath is highly polished, creating a sharp contrast between the two sides. Along the edge of the gold, two strips of diamonds follow the fold of the design. Diamond micro-pavé is a calling card of this Irish jeweller, who is now based in London. She spent six weeks in Antwerp learning how to master the technique after winning a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship to fund her trip, and she is now one of the few female micro-pavé setters working in the UK.
